Do And Don'ts On Relaxed Hair

Dont's

1. Combing it 100 times a day. Its not necessary to keep manipulating your relaxed hair. Try finger combing a few times a week and not everyday.

2. Skipping Wash days. Its not a good idea to skip wash days only , because when your scalp becomes to oily from all the product build-up then it causes your relaxed hair not too grow.

3. Not preparing your hair at night. Must wrap your relaxed hair using a moisturizer and a oil (coconut oil, castor oil, jojoba oil, etc...) finishing up using a silk scarf so that your relaxed won't lose moisture.

4. Getting a relaxer soon new growth appears. Not only your risking scalp burns but also your relaxed hair gets thinner and it starts to look unhealthy ,I'm assuming nobody wants that.

5.HEAT! HEAT! HEAT! Put your hot tools down!!! too much heat will increase heat damage on your relaxed hair. If you must use direct heat don't forget to use a heat protecting spray every time your about to use direct heat on your relaxed hair.

DOs

1. Drinking plenty of water. Not only is good for your body but its also good for the hair, water helps your hair growing process.

2. Getting relaxers every 4-6 months. The longer you wait the thicker and healthier your hair gets. but also you do have to remember now you'll be dealing with two different textures (new growth and relaxed hair) so you need to be very careful with the way you comb your hair and make sure you keep your new growth super moisturized to prevent hair breakage.

3. MOISTURIZE AND SEAL! Is a must! and a plus! your hair will become more softer and your ends will be must healthier which means less trimming.

4. Washing your scalp and not your hair. Let me explain, the whole point of washing your hair is too remove product build-up on your scalp and NOT your hair strands. When you are shampooing your hair the shampoo will be running down your hair stands and that's enough to clean your hair just focus on your scalp only!

5. Protective Styling. Not having your ends hang all the time is a plus! try wearing buns, ponytails, or any style that doesn't have your ends showing, Because when you are consistent with protective hairstyles the less you have to trim when you visit your hair salon.
